Highlights

Athens is the capital of Greece and famous for being the birthplace of democracy and Socrates, as well as the home of Acropolis and the first modern-day Olympic games in 1896. Leaving Athens via the homeport Piraeus, we visit the volcano island Santorini and lots of other exciting places in Greece and Turkey. Among them is Canaccale at the entrance of the Dardanelles. Canaccale is connected with Alexander the Great and lots of mythological stories, such as the love story between Hero and Leander and the legend about the wooden Trojan horse. The narrow Dardanelles makes a spectacular welcome to Istanbul, a city of great importance even before Roman emperor Constantine the Great named it Constantinople.
