As a potential customer, how can the AWM Yachting Management Team ( AWMT ) assist me to find my perfect yacht?
AWMT will make a thorough check of all potentially interesting yachts, including the ships' background, documents and refits.

How do you perform the control?
Experienced inspectors will inspect all parts of the vessel to make sure that the hull, the superstructure and the interior meet the expected 5+ standard. The documents, machinery, the navigation instruments, the communication - and safety equipment will be thoroughly checked as well.

How can you justify the safety on board the vessel?
AWMT will follow the Safety Management System of the ISM Code (International Safety Management). Safety manuals are created especially for the yacht concerned, and all important matters shall be logged.

Whom will be our shore side contact person?
A qualified AWM Yachting team member is responsible for the yacht. The Designated Person Ashore ( DPA ) follows up and check routines and non-conformities.

Can the officers and crew be trusted concerning hazardous leaks?
All AWM Yachting officers are thoroughly trained and prepared to avoid any dangers to the environment. Drills are performed as required by the international SOPEP and MARPOL rules ( Shipboard Oil Pollution Emergency Plan – and Maritime Pollution ).

Where can I find the documents belonging to the vessel and the crew?
Originals or copies can be found in the Ships Office, on the Bridge, inside the Control Room and at all the AWM Yachting offices ashore.

Who can be contacted in case of an emergency?
In case of an emergency the captain of the yacht will contact the AWMT member on duty.

Who are held responsible for the education and the training of the crew?
All crew member must have passed the STCW 95 courses when applying for a job on a vessel belonging to the  AWM Yachting Group.( Standards of Training, Certification and Watch keeping ). Basic refreshers are arranged on board the vessel.

How is the maintenance set up on board the yacht?
The yacht will receive a pre-arranged Safety Management System ( SMS ). Ordinary maintenance will be arranged by the chief mate and 1st engineer.

Which internal - or official inspecting are likely to come on board the vessel?
AWMYachting will arrange a few internal inspections. Local ship authorities, as well as authorized IMO companies may pay you a visit occasionally in addition to the statutory controls. The fire brigade, custom officers and inspectors from the health and sanitary division can also be expected.

What about mustering plans and drills?
Newcomers will be shown the safety equipment as soon as possible during their first day on board the vessel. Safety boards are placed close to the Bridge, at the Crew Mess and inside the Engine Control Room.

Where can I find prescribed publications and documents?
Originals or copies are found in the Ships Office, on the Bridge, in the Control Room and at all the AWM Yachting offices ashore.

At what time are major repairs and replacement of engine parts taking place?
The yacht visits well-known and approved ship wharves as implemented in the  AWM Yachting manuals. Any emergencies will be handled according to international law.

Which security procedures are to be followed in case of a dangerous situation?
In co-operation with the flag state, harbor officials, the captain, the security officer and our ashore based professional security company, AWM Yachting will make sure that the International Ship and Port Facility Security plan ( ISPS ) is followed. We arrange the ISPS certification, and the CSO will do occasional visits, checking that the vessel is ready for any threat level.

How do you arrange the employment of crew members?
The crew department of AWM Yachting check incoming CV's and certificates, where we stress the importance of experience and STCW 95 education. The captain will make the final decision regarding the chosen crew members. Everybody must sign the AWM Yachting standard Crew Agreement” form. The crew department arrange additional job refreshers and prepare the yearly job approvals.
